Matt Jones, a game developer here at Sumo Warrington has been presented with the 2021 Microsoft Most Valuable Professional award in recognition of his exceptional technical community leadership.

A recent addition to our growing engineering team, Matt has been recognised for his work running the “C# on Discord” Community, a forum which has over 23,000 members.

The awards celebrate, honour and thank top-notch technology experts making outstanding contributions to their communities, with individuals from around the world being recognised as MVPs. Recipients have an unstoppable urge to get their hands on new, exciting technologies and – most importantly – love to share their knowledge with others.

About the award, Matt said: “I honestly never expected to get this recognition. Words cannot describe how proud I am to have been given this award, I am truly honoured. I look forward to what amazing things I will be able to do with this new position.”

Scott Kirkland, Studio Director at Sumo Warrington, said: “Matt is a rising star on the Sumo Warrington team and for him to be recognised on a global scale is testament to his hard work, dedication and passion.

“At Sumo, we believe it's our people that make us great and that’s certainly true of Matt. We can’t wait to see what he does next and look forward to supporting him all the way!”
